How to choose an irrigation contractor

If you’re ready to take your lawn to the next level, especially if you have an extensive lawn, installing an automatic sprinkler system could be right for you.  The first big step in the process is selecting a contractor to install your system.  Rain Bird, a maker of sprinkler systems, has put together a convenient guide for choosing a contractor.

As with any contractor, you’ll want to get a written estimate prior to agreeing to any work.  Unlike some contractors, an irrigation system installer will need to visit your property prior to writing up the estimate.  Many factors will contribute to the quote including what type of plants and grass you have, your soil conditions, and the sources and pressure of the water. A contractor can’t gather this information without a visit.

The guide has several other tips regarding obtaining the all-important estimate.  It also provides several questions you can ask prospective contractors, and some warning signs you may encounter of when you talk to less reputable contractors.  It’s well worth your time as you begin to the process of installing your sprinkler system.

You can also contact us and we’ll be happy to schedule a visit to put together a quote for you.  We’ll be happy to answer any questions you have and are confident you’ll like the answers you hear.
